The chairman of SC Johnson and Sons Company, Sr Johnson has shared the company’s recent intent to resume its purchasing of pyrethrum for the production of chemicals to boost the war against malaria. Uhuru Kenyatta (The Kenya president) welcome the deal terming it as a boost in the fight against malaria in Kenya and across the region.
The president noted that the production of pyrethrum would upend the Kenyan farmer’s fortunes, especially with the ready market provided by the international manufacturer of housed cleaning supplies and consumer chemicals.
The partnership will be a boost for the Nakuru-based pyrethrum processing company whose operations were revived in February 2022 after scaling down for many years. Pyrethrum is grown in 18 counties in Kenya. Check the counties here https://kenyanlife.com/pyrethrum-farming-in-kenya/
