The Amazon Web Services(AWS) from Amazon company has announced a plan to open a Local Zone in Kenya. The new Kenya Local AWS zone is set to join the other 16 existing Local Zones across the United States of America and the other 32 AWS zones planned in other countries.
AWS Local Zone
These are infrastructures that are meant and deployed for computation, storage of databases, artificial intelligence system integration, and other services offered by AWS. These Local Zones will help Information and Technology(IT) companies in Kenya and other customers to deploy their applications that require single-digit millisecond latency close to end-users or on-premises data centers.
Customers can connect to AWS Local Zones through an internet connection or use AWS Direct Connect – a cloud service that links an organization’s network directly to AWS to deliver consistent secure, low-latency performance – to route traffic over a private AWS network connection.
